In short: every plan you buy may be used permanently in designs, competition entries, academic work, presentations and internal visualisation, including in paid commissions. For print publication and for publishing on the web there is the extended licence as an add-on.

Architecture licence — included in the price

Covered is use

• in architecture, urban design and landscape projects, including paid commissions,
• in competition entries and portfolios,
• in bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral theses,
• in internal presentations and visualisations,
• in any number of projects, permanently, without re-licensing.

The licence covers the purchasing person or practice and includes passing the plan to project participants such as the client, specialist planners or visualisation studios, as far as they use it within the same project.

Extended licence — add-on

Additionally covered is print in books, magazines and other publications, publishing on the web beyond your own project presentation, and editorial use.

The add-on costs 20,00 € per single plan, 50,00 € per country bundle and 100,00 € for the Access All Plans pass. It is selected at purchase and applies permanently to that plan.

Passing files on to third parties

The plan files themselves may not be passed on or resold as a standalone dataset, not even with the extended licence. The reason is not ours but lies in the origin of the data: the plans are derived from OpenStreetMap, and the Open Database License requires derived databases to be published under the same licence. We therefore cannot grant rights we do not hold ourselves.

What you create from a plan — a drawing, a layout, a visualisation, a publication — is not affected. The two licences above apply to that, and no share-alike obligation falls back on your own drawing.

Data sources and attribution

The figure-ground and site plans are derived from OpenStreetMap data, © OpenStreetMap contributors, published under the Open Database License 1.0 (ODbL). We clean this data editorially, sort it into layers and bring it to a fixed scale.

When publishing a plan, please credit the source: Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL).

The cadastral map uses official land-registry data from federal states and countries. Attribution differs per territory and must be given when publishing:

What is ours

The selection, preparation, layer structure, scaling and graphic design of the plans are our work and are protected by copyright. The underlying geodata is not — it is published under the open licences named above and may be processed by anyone.

Not an official record

The cadastral map on this website is a non-binding rendering of open geodata. Only the official extract from the land register, issued by the responsible cadastral authority, is legally binding.
